Someone Bumped Your Car? Or Was The Road Freshly Painted?

It happens, and it is not fun. Whenever your vehicle gets a different colored paint from overspray, road spray or due to some bumping, it is very noticeable and frustrating.

Overspray can happen when near a job site that is utilizing paint, whether it is a construction site or people painting roads. It is an unfortunate situation which may sometimes be out of the control of your hands.

Sometimes it can be small specs that just contaminate the surface or worst case a bigger blotch that latches onto the surface. In case of paint transfer, that usually occurs due to bumping into things causing damage to the panel and clear coat. Depending on the damage and how deep the paint goes into the clear coat, it may be out of our reach and would most likely need a paint job from a shop.

Do NOT panic, refrain from scratching your car and causing any further damage. Rubbing the paint with a razor or towel could make it worse and make it go from savable situation to a paint job situation if not careful.

FAQ's

Do you require access to water or power?

Both! At this moment in time we are not self-sufficient and do not carry our own water tank or power generator. Our mobile unit is packed with tools and other equipment, we are able to get the job done as long as we have access to those two things. Feel free to lend a hose or an electrical extension, the more the merrier! All we need is your vehicle, the keys, and ample room to park and do our job.

Does overspray damage my vehicle long term?

Usually no, the chemicals that make up paint don’t tend to eat away at surfaces. But is always better to be safe than sorry.

Does the Clay Bar treatment get rid of the overspray?

Depends, the clay bar is used to remove surface contaminants that are sitting in the clear coat. The difference with paint is that it adheres and bonds to the surface. Although it is possible to maybe remove some small droplets, it will most likely not be enough to do the job.

Will you be able to remove the paint 100%?

We will try to remove as much as we can, there is no guarantees of full removal but we will remove most of it. It all depends on where the paint is sitting, on what type of surface it is sitting on and how long it has been sitting.
